Kathy A. Seabrook CSP, CMIOSH

Kathy A. Seabrook is founder and president of Global Solutions, Inc. With over 30 years of diverse safety and health management experience in both the US and international sectors, she is a US Certified Safety Professional, UK Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and received a BS in Chemistry from James Madison University, USA.

Seabrook is a management consultant, international keynote speaker, seminar/workshop presenter, leadership trainer, author, facilitator and strategic planner in the field of global environmental, health and safety (EHS) management and developing global leadership fluency. Seabrook has conducted presentations on global safety and health management, sustainability, ANSI Z10 and leadership at the annual conferences of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), National Safety Council, Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, PAC RIM, Hawaii (Keynote), American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHce), Society of Human Resource Managers, Risk Insurance Management Society, New Jersey Governor's Annual Occupational Safety & Health Awards Program (Keynote) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers/ IMechE, UK. She has also presented papers at the XV World Congress on Safety and Health in Sao Paulo, Brazil and the Annual Institution of Occupational Safety and Health’s Annual Conference, Manchester, Cardiff and London, UK.

Seabrook serves on the ANSI Z10 standard development committee and the OSHAS 18001 Working Party. She is a member of the ASSE Executive Committee and is the current ASSE President Elect. She has chaired the Sustainability Taskforce, ASSE International Member Taskforce and Global committee. She has been a member of ASSE’s national faculty since 1996 and serves on the Business of Safety Committee and International Practice Specialty Advisory Committee. As an author, she has contributed to the body of knowledge on global safety and health management in the books: the 2012 ASSE Safety Professional’s Handbook (sustainability chapter as well), Essentials of Safety and Health Management and Ted Ferry’s Safety and Health Management Planning.

Seabrook is a member of the British Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) and serves on the IOSH International Specialist Group Advisory Committee as the Americas’ Champion. She also served as the ASSE UN NGO representative to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. For her contributions to the safety profession, Seabrook received the 2011 ASSE President’s Award for her work in founding the Global Center for Safety and Health Sustainability; the British Institution of Occupational Safety and Health’s Distinguished Service Award; the ASSE International Practice Specialty’s Safety Professional of the Year; and the ASSE Charles V. Culberson Outstanding Volunteer Service Award.
